For the inaugural season of Kingston’s new orchestra devoted wholly to Historically Informed practice of music from the Baroque era, we will be performing 4 in-person concerts in the 2021-2022 season at our lovely ‘home’, St. James’ Anglican Church, 10 Union Street.

A Journey in Time, String Music of the Italian Baroque
This concert takes you on a musical voyage through Italy starting in the year 1615 with “La Pelegrina” by Tarquinio Merula and finishing up in the early 1700’s with Giuseppe Brivio’s Sinfonia in G major.

Invention, Ornament, and Excess: a celebration of Baroque music and poetry
The program will feature music by Baroque composers Johann Ernst Galliard (Germany), Jean Marie Leclair (France), Dario Castello (Italy), Luigi Merci (England), and poetry by John Milton, Jean LaFontaine, Anne Finch, and Aphra Behn.
